Meet the Athletes Using SoloRider Golf Carts at the 2026 U.S. Adaptive Open

As the number of players in Adaptive Golf continues to grow, so too do the number of tournaments and the level of competition. Among these events, the U.S. Adaptive Open is one of the premier stages for adaptive athletes to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level.

As the 2026 U.S. Adaptive Open gets underway at Woodmont Country Club in Maryland, some of the world’s top adaptive golfers will come together for a week of elite competition. Among the field are several athletes who use SoloRider golf carts to help them compete at their highest level.

The following adaptive golfers are using SoloRider golf carts during the 2026 U.S. Adaptive Open at Woodmont Country Club:

  • Billy Fryar
  • Bailey Bish
  • Larry Celano
  • Dennis Walters

SoloRider golf carts help adaptive golfers compete by providing greater mobility and accessibility on the course.

Billy Fryar (Bigelow, Arkansas)

SoloRider athlete Billy Fryar will once again compete at this year’s U.S. Adaptive Open. Following a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed, Billy discovered the game of golf through SoloRider. After his first experience on a SoloRider cart, he realized that “golf was just starting, a whole new chapter, a whole new beginning.” In a previous interview with SoloRider, Fryar explained why he prefers using his own SoloRider during tournaments: “My SoloRider is an extension of me, it’s kind of like home.” The SoloRider team is proud to support Billy and wishes him the very best as he takes the course this week at the U.S. Adaptive Open.

Bailey Bish (Tucson, Arizona)

Winner of the women’s overall title at the 2024 U.S. Adaptive Open and co-runner-up in 2025, Bailey has established herself as one of the top competitors in adaptive golf. Bailey was diagnosed with dystonia and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, a disorder of the autonomic nervous system, which causes involuntary muscle contractions. Beyond her accomplishments on the course, Bailey exemplifies the resilience and determination that define adaptive athletics. She will look to add another title to her name this year at the Open.

Larry is known throughout the adaptive golf community for his enthusiastic personality, and his passion for the game is evident in every one of his swings. After suffering a spinal cord injury during his time in the U.S. Military, Larry found golf and has been a vibrant part of the adaptive golf community ever since. Fans will undoubtedly be watching for the energy and enthusiasm that have become hallmarks of Larry’s presence on the course, including his well-known “birdie dance.”
