Big Tax Credit for Small Private Courses
According to a tax opinion letter authored in 2012 by Colorado tax attorney Dale Heider, a little known but substantial federal tax credit has long been available to privately owned golf courses that are open to the public. The credit allows qualifying courses to claim a tax credit of up to $5,125.00 against the purchase of a SoloRider Golf Cart. To qualify for the credit, your course must (a) have net annual sales of less than $1,000,000 - OR - (b) have 30 or less full-time employees.
